Location of existing structures on the parcel
Topographic survey (pending severity of site elevation)
Location of water's edge
Boundaries / corners - they may ask for a scaled survey map from a professional surveyor
Personal goals of house orientation and best views
*TIP: First confirm with your builder/architect if they will require a topographic survey. We waited until we had most of the house designed to engage site engineering, to reduce the amount of site visits ($$).
